We had such an amazing time with Kate and Jared this summer helping them create the perfect cake for their wedding at Rock Creek Garden. They were so awesome to work with! We created a 3 tiered cake with white pearl fondant and a beautiful quilted pattern with edible sugar diamond centers. Cheers to the newlyweds!
The Washington State Radiological Society celebrated International Day of Radiology at its annual meeting in Seattle on November 7, 2015. WSRS board members gathered to cut the fabulous commemorative cake that we created with a fondant appliqué of the very first X-Ray, (of Frau Roentgen's hand), from 120 years ago. Thank you so much for sending us this picture of everyone!
We recently got to meet and create a cake for Anne Smith- owner and beekeeper of Sunny Honey Company in Pike's Place Market that is now a permanent resident in the market. We had the pleasure of working with her on creating this sculpted beehive cake with fondant bees and a honeycomb sign to celebrate her 1 year anniversary. And.....it was chocolate cake striped with yellow tinted almond creme filling to look like a bee inside the hive! If your in the market neighborhood stop by and check out her cute shop next to the fish market-her honey is amazing! http://www.sunnyhoneyco.com/
We are now finally catching up to all the things that we have been up to this year... one being that we were asked to be a part of a West Seattle video magazine- Watching West Seattle. This showcases individuals that work and live in West Seattle. It was a fun adventure going through all the steps from start to finish creating custom cakes. Check out our video and so many other interesting people and stories around West Seattle! We sure do love it here!

We are beyond grateful for the opportunity we were given to compete on Cake Wars! And of course, so happy we won! This was an incredible experience (challenging also) and another awesome milestone in mine & Natalie's journey of owning BAKED. together. Thank you so much for all of the love and support - especially from our families, friends, and the awesome team at BAKED. Thanks to The Knot, the Food Network, Sam & Taylor, the judges we've admired, and our talented competition! We continue to be inspired by the awesome community of cake bakers, designers and artists we're fortunate to be a part of. We love what we do!
Meet Dawn & Jackie of Seattle Bride Hair! We're always excited to know people that love what they do (we're lucky to be in an industry where this tends to be the "norm") and these two ladies are definitely a welcomed addition to the wedding world. The day of your wedding can be so packed with things to do, having a stellar hair & makeup team who are willing to be with you "on location" can be absolutely priceless. While Seattle Bride Hair might be a new business, these two come with years of professional industry experience and nothing but love for everything wedding. Visit their facebook page for more information, photos, bios, and contact info. Nothing better than a new business opened by people following their dreams! Cheers to you guys!
How lucky are we to meet our new neighbors Sadie & Diwas of Diwas Photography - not only are they super talented, but they're two of the kindest people you might ever meet AND have a crazy adorable daughter to boot. Check out their website and read their story, diwasphotography.com - then book them for your wedding or next family milestone. They recently came in to hang out with us on a Friday afternoon to capture some finished cakes before they were delivered to their homes. You'll be seeing more of their photos on our Facebook and Instagram feeds (trust us, you'll be able to tell which photos are theirs immediately due to the quality).
Here is one of my favorite non traditional wedding cakes...this was a couple that came to us from Helena, MT and they now live in Seattle. They gave us a few ideas with each city of what they wanted and the rest was up to us....I think we did a good job when the brides parents came in to pick it up and almost jumped through the roof with excitement, that is what it is all about!

Just last year we were approached by Cakes Against Cancer for Kids about making a first birthday cake for a little girl who lives in Alaska and had come to Seattle for cancer treatments.
Her name is Emily Rose Burpee.
After talking with her Aunt, she had told us about this amazing little girl and her story, and the struggles she had since she was 8 months old. We followed closely on her Facebook page through the pictures and updates from her family of this adorable little spirited girl! We were very honored to make her first birthday cake but even more excited to make her second! She will always hold a special place in our hearts!
Cakes Against Cancer for Kids is one of the most amazing things to bring bakers all over the country to give just a little smile to these little warriors who are fight for there lives! We are so grateful to be part of such a wonderful program! Please check out there website and follow them on Facebook to see all the good that they do for all these kids!
Last week we had the pleasure of being part of the Taste of West Seattle at The Hall of Fauntleroy with so many other amazing local business'. This is such a great a fundraiser for the West Seattle Helpline to help West Seattle families get back on there feet after an emergency. We love fun nights that go toward such great causes! This was our first year to be a part of it and we had a blast. We are usually buried in cake and it was really nice to get out and meet other local business'... seeing old friends and meeting new ones! Everything was so tasty! We were so excited to share some samples of Italian Coconut Cream cake and Strawberry Lavender with so many that have walk by our shop and peeked in the window! Being we are by appointment only we don't get that much foot traffic so we hoped that everyone enjoyed tasting our cakes!
...Stay tuned as we have been working on have a few tastings a year at our shop!
