So excited to share this beautiful wedding at Laurel Creek Manor orchestrated by Holcomb Weddings & Events . Meghan and Ben were such a treat to work with as well as their families. They chose a very classic pleated buttercream design with fresh floral from Paisley Petals Flower Studio and cake topper by Paper & Pine Co. They had our signature cake bites to offer their guests with a delicious assortment of flavors to try including Salted Lime Margarita, Raspberry Confetti and Cinnamon Roll with cute little wood plaques from Chalk Boss. There were also macarons from our friends over at The Sweetside. Courtney Bowlden Photography did an amazing job capturing this beautiful display of sweets and so many more moments!

What does Baked Custom Cakes do
Baked Custom Cakes is a cake studio that uniquely customizes cakes to meet your personal style and inspiration with their artistic talents. These delicious and creative cakes are baked from scratch and can be personalized for weddings, birthdays, babyshowers, graduations and engagements. In fact, the cakes are so good that a local reporter did an article about the company and its success.
I had the opportunity to ask the owner of Baked what her company’s goals are and she said “To provide quality cakes that range from simple designs to crazy sculpted and tiered designs that are baked from scratch.” You can learn more about Baked, meet their team and see some of their creations by visiting the company’s website .
Who is the owner of Baked
Before attending culinary school, Kristina Serfass started the company called Baked located in Seattle, WA back in 2010. She had the great opportunity to travel around the world with the Coast Guard on an Icebreaker before starting her successful custom cake studio.
“I was always into arts and crafts growing up and this is just a different form… with sugar! I love making baked goods for family and friends,” said Kristina. Her amazing talents and art skills encouraged her to be on the well-known TV show, Cake Wars. “One of my goals that came true was to compete on a Food Network competition and I was able to compete on Cake Wars, twice… and won twice!” Kristina said.
How an online time clock helps Kristina’s company
I had the opportunity to ask how OnTheClock has helped her company and employees when it comes to accurate time tracking and she answered “Once I started to grow and hire employees, payroll was a struggle and I wanted to be able to do it on my own being a small business. This program helped so much for many reasons including the independent work schedules, deliveries and events that I had employees working at during different times and different places. Also, we were using QuickBooks, and I wanted something that would integrate with my payroll system.”
With the great amount of success that Kristina has had over the years, I wanted to ask why a successful woman like herself chose OnTheClock to track her employee’s hours? Kristina stated “It is easy to use, affordable and there was an app for the phone which is key!”
I also wanted to ask her how an online time clock has helped benefit her company, she said “It is easy for my employees to keep up with their hours because our days and weeks change constantly, so I like that I am able to monitor the hours even when I am not at the shop.”
Being a successful business owner, I could not conclude the interview without asking her what advice she would give to other small business owners. “I would say be patient, do your homework and research. One of the most helpful things was reaching out to my local SCORE office and taking advantage of the free help from former or current business owners,” said Kristina.
What a fun night we had celebrating 6 years in business with so many amazing friends and clients that we have gotten to know and work with over the years. As always, Barbie Hull did a great job capturing the night, Bamboo Beats literally lit the place up, Ravishing Radish provided us with some tasty bites and Anne from Floressence made us some beautiful centerpieces. I couldn't have done it without Meghan from Clutch Events direction and comedy!! Thank you to all you amazing people that helped and showed up to celebrate with us- we are so grateful to have such a wonderful community to be part of!!! We hope you enjoy the birthday candle party favors from Big Dipper Wax on your next cake!
Last May this amazing couple celebrated their wedding with a fun and festive celebration! From the handmade bouquet made of brooches, to the bright colors of decorations all over, it was a truly amazing day for these two. We had so much fun creating this embroidery style wedding cake to go along with all the colorful decorations.
The cake was iced in our Italian meringue buttercream and layered with fondant and buttercream details. We will never forget the excitement from Suzanne when she came to pick up the cake, it's what we live for as cake artists! Along with the beautiful design on the outside they had a mixture of Chocolate Decadence -which is our dark chocolate fudge cake with layers of chocolate cream and ganache and Italian Cream- coconut cake layered with coconut pecan cream cheese.
Lisa Marie Imagery did a beautiful job capturing all of these moments- check out her blog about this wedding and the amazing images of the cake she captured.
As the temperature drops and the days get shorter, we are thinking up new and creative ways to reflect and celebrate Fall. In this spirit of reflection, we would like to share one of our favorite fall wedding cakes from Margeaux and Nick’s wedding last October.
This “Fleurs and Filigree” wedding took place at DeLille Cellars--a small, intimate vineyard in beautiful Woodinville, Washington. The bride and groom paired elegant simplicity with seasonal blooms and warm tones throughout the reception, and our custom cake capped the refinement of the day.
This three-tiered cake was elegant on the outside and a menagerie of flavors inside. Each layer delighted the palette; almond, lavender, and vanilla bean cakes were combined with cream cheese filling. The smooth Italian meringue buttercream design was finished with gold fondant bands and meticulously-designed and hand-crafted sugar poppies dipped in gold.
We loved seeing photos of the couple enjoying our cake on the Borrowed & Blue blog—check the link below to see for yourself!

We had the pleasure of working with one of the most talented and sweetest photographers, Barbie Hull, on a photoshoot at the Sanctuary at Admiral to introduce a new little bite that we are offering- "Cake Bites".
After serving these as samples for so many events we had such a huge response and decided to offer them as an option for a "cake bar". These fun and easily pop-able bites gives everyone the chance to try many flavors and fillings. Each cake bite is two layers of cake with a layer of filling held together with a wooden skewer. We have set up a few ideas of set up with a presentation cake...small or large! Pricing will depend on set up so please contact us for more details.
This year we have had so much fun creating cakes for styled shoots! We are so grateful to have such a talented city of amazing vendors to collaborate with. We were so excited to work with Alyssa Estrada of Elle and James Co. and Lora Grady Photography along with Vintage Ambiance, Anna Gallup of Grace and Blooms, Belltown Bride and Posh Styling at Woodland Meadow Farms. Brittney Smith was the stunning model.
We created a two-tiered marbled fondant hexagon cake with gold edges along with gorgeous fresh flowers. We just love how everything came together so beautifully!
We recently had a blast hanging with one of our favorite ladies, Barbie Hull at the Sanctuary at Admiral for an amazing shoot. She took the most amazing photos of our awesome team and of course cake too! It was such a beautiful day and we are so excited to share them. Check our our website for our newly updated pics of our team and also another fun cake option!
We had so much fun working with Maddy Ghosh of Little Wedding Blush and so many other wonderful vendors on this gorgeous styled shoot at Woodland Meadow Farms. This Indian styled shoot had so many beautiful details and bold, bright colors. We created a cake with a gold henna design and a floral ruffled tier. These amazing images were captured by Amanda and Steven Lloyd. Check out all of these amazing vendors who put this shoot together!

We just love it when we get to meet the person behind the cake! We created this cake for Charlie, who has quite the musical history to celebrate his 70th birthday at HWY 99 Blues Club! This sculpted cake of one of his Line 6 amps that we customized with his company logo- Morgan Sound along with one of his favorite guitars! It was so awesome to meet such a talented, loved artist!
Here is a little history below from Charlie-
As if turning 70 wasn't enough of a milestone, over 200 of my industry and musician friends showed up to celebrate our connections and the A/V projects, music and bands we have created and perfected over the years. Many of these people I have known for over 50 years.
I have been blessed with a career that spans some 50 years, beginning with Rock and Roll Bands in the 60s that opened for the likes of Cream, The Yardbirds and other mega groups of that time as the music industry underwent a huge revolution sparked by Woodstock. My musical career took me into recording studios where I learned the art of professional recording and eventually became an engineer/producer. I worked for Mayor Wes Uhlman in creating a music program for Seattle groups .. allowing them to perform in City Parks (the program was called TRUCK and featured a special flatbed truck as the stage). I began building sound systems and was 'discovered' by an LA promoter who began using me for events in Seattle. I then connected with Gordon Lightfoot and became his touring engineer, a job I held for 12 years. During that time I worked with Judy Collins, Lou Rawls, The Jazz Crusaders, Liberace, Spinal Tap, The Climax Blues Band and many more too numerous to mention. Morgan Sound, the company that came from these years, continues to provide state of the art audio systems for concert venues and stadiums around the Pacific NW. I now head up the Design/Installation division of Morgan Sound and spend my days creating audio, video and lighting systems for churches, night clubs, marine vessels, City Halls and any venue that needs services of our type. The gathering included people from all of these eras of my life.
