Two of my greatest joys in life are food and traveling. Mealtime was always a huge part of my childhood growing up in a Sicilian family and I was always by my grandmothers side helping in the kitchen. Once I graduated from The Art Institute of Houston, I traveled the world working in a variety of kitchens. My travels included a Coast Guard icebreaker in the Arctic, McMurdo Station in Antarctica and a fishing camp in Alaska, as well as small specialty bakeries in between. Through all my experiences I figured out that baking and decorating cakes was where my passion was the most. I met Natalie (co-founder) baking at a small cafe and we had both been making cakes on the side...so we decided to go for it and started Baked. in 2010! When I'm not decorating cakes, I love spending time with my hubby, Chad and our dog, Coda anywhere outdoors with our friends...camping, hiking and music festivals!
