Just last year we were approached by Cakes Against Cancer for Kids about making a first birthday cake for a little girl who lives in Alaska and had come to Seattle for cancer treatments.

Her name is Emily Rose Burpee.

After talking with her Aunt, she had told us about this amazing little girl and her story, and the struggles she had since she was 8 months old. We followed closely on her Facebook page through the pictures and updates from her family of this adorable little spirited girl! We were very honored to make her first birthday cake but even more excited to make her second! She will always hold a special place in our hearts!

Emily's first birthday! We were told that she loved to play with any and every pair of sunglasses.
